TRIBECA LOFT
Part preservation, part creation, this TriBeCa loft was entirely transformed from a warehouse-like space into a warm and eclectic home. The loft was converted to a penthouse by the addition of a new opening in the roof and the construction of a new stair and bulkhead. A schoolhouse-style stair in keeping with the district's cast iron heritage was designed to access the new roof terrace. All of the windows within the unit were replaced to NYC Landmarks Commission specifications, and salvaged schoolhouse cabinets were retrofitted to create the kitchen.
